New signage for Virginia Union?

From Monday’s (February 6th) Planning Commission meeting agenda: Special Use Permit for Signage for Virginia Union University. I think that they previously had to get a similar permit to hang some banners. Planning Commission meetings are open to the public, but are, unfortunately, at 1:30pm on Monday (5th Floor Conference Room).

This past weekend the VUU Panthers failed in a truly epic comeback on the road at Chowan this weekend. Down 14 with under three minutes to play the Panthers scored, recovered an onsides kick, scored AGAIN, but miss the extra point! Chowan defeated VUU 35-34. VUU falls to 1-4 on the season and 1-2 in [...]

Fear not! The giant panther is back!

Guys, if you were sad when the giant panther head was removed from the Lombardy roundabout, BE SAD NO LONGER! They’ve moved the panther head to inside the north end of the stadium. I’ll try and get a picture sometime soon.

Slipek on the new Union fence

Writing for Style Weekly, Ed Slipek Jr, puts in his $.02 on the fence around VUU: There are few places where I’ve encountered such draconian fencing to keep the academics in and ostensibly, unwanted individuals and activities out. Columbia University in New York City has always had a wall around it. Dillard University, a historically [...]
