Arsenic and Old Lace at Movieland
Cary Grant’s Arsenic and Old Lace is at Movieland this weekend for Movies and Mimosas. They really don’t make movies like this anymore: there’s a guy who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt, a corpse, and Cary Grant! It’s bizarre, but pretty awesome. You can see the full list of movie show times (and buy tickets on [...]
Stop Making Sense, The Naked Gun at Movieland
RIP Leslie Nelson, RIP. Also! Stop Making Sense the Talking Heads concert movie is playing. Interesting choice Movieland, interesting choice. You can see the full list of movie show times (and buy tickets on line) here.
Edward Scissorhands at Movieland
Sometimes I wonder how you would pitch a movie like Edward Scissorhands to a movie executive: Ok ok, there’s this guy, and he loves this girl, right? And he’s a total fish out of water! But the twist is, get this! He’s got SCISSORS. FOR HANDS! Am I right?! Oh also, it will star Johnny [...]
Harold and Maude at Movieland
Harold and Maude! It’s one of my favorite movies of all time! If you haven’t seen it, get ye to the Movieland. You can see the full list of movie show times (and buy tickets on line) here.
Groundhog Day at Movieland
“Phil? Phil CONNORS?” Just in time for us to celebrate good ol’ Punxsutawney Phil’s decree that Spring will be here sooner than later, Movieland will be showing Groundhog Day for Movies and Mimosas. The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be in the Insomnia Theater slot. Again. You can see the full list of movie show [...]
The Breakfast Club at Movieland
Movieland brings John Hughes’s The Breakfast Club to both Insomnia Theatre and Movies and Mimosas. Are you excited? Are you filled with teen angst? Are you looking for a “which Breakfast Club member are you” quiz? More importantly: Does Barry Manilow know that you raid his wardrobe? You can see the full list of movie [...]
Valley of the Dolls at Movieland
The ol’ Rocky Horror graces us again (I guess) with its presence. And then, for Movies and Mimosas we’ve got Valley of the Dolls. The only thing I know about Valley of the Dolls is: drugs and Sharon Tate. So in lieu of my thoughts, here’s some thoughts from a style conscious teen. You can [...]
Pretty in Pink, The Graduate at Movieland
It’s been a while since Movieland has had two great movies in one weekend — for both Movies and Mimosas and Insomnia Theatre. This weekend you’ve got Pretty in Pink and The Graduate. THE GRADUATE. The final scene, pictured above, may be my favorite scene in a movie ever. Who wants to borrow my child [...]
Gone With the Wind at Movieland
It’s like a parade of 1939 Best Picture nominees over at Movieland. This Sunday they are featuring Gone With the Wind! HOW EXCITED ARE YOU? IT BETTER BE “VERY MUCH EXCITED.” I just read Gone With the Wind for the first time this year and totally loved it.
