Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens closed the 24th and 25th

The title kind of says it all: the Botanical Gardens, including the sweet GardenFest of Lights, will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So, if you were planning on taking the family out to see the lights Christmas Eve you may want to reschedule to the 26th.

Christmas Celebration at All Souls Presbyterian

MacArthur Avenue Illumination!

Celebrate the Holiday season on MacArthur Avenue this weekend. Friday night at 7pm Hilbert “throws the switch” for the MacArthur Illumination, followed by hot apple cider and fire-pit hang outs. Saturday from Noon — 4pm will include Santa ariving by parade and EMS vehicles on display. Full release after the jump.

Ginger Park Presbyterian holds annual Lovefeast

Ginter Park Presbyterian Church, at 3601 Seminary Avenue (where Walton crosses between Chamberlayne and Brook) will hold its annual Lovefeast in the Moravian Tradition this Sunday, 12/12, at 7pm. The celebration of the Christmas spirit is an evening of lessons and carols with baked buns and hot chocolate served. Everyone is welcome.

A couple of street closings this weekend

This weekend the recently named-and-renamed Dominion Christmas Parade is going to be shutting down most of Broad Street. Leigh Street from Hermitage to North Boulevard will also be closed which will in turn impact some of your Northside travels. Roads should open back up around 1pm.
