A fire last night destroyed a Highland Park house on the 3600 block of Carolina Avenue, reports the Times-Dispatch. One person was taken to the hospital, and four were displaced. Read the full article for the details, and be extra careful with your candles, folks.
Last week’s deadly fire on Garland Avenue has been ruled a homicide.
Updates: The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest in a house fire early yesterday. Michelle Yvette Hampton, 34, of Richmond is charged with threatening to burn and arson. Additional charges against Hampton are pending upon review of the case by Richmond Police and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
