Style Weekly brings word of another attempt by the City at revitalizing a stretch of Brookland Boulevard. This time they’ll start by demolishing 209 & 211 W. Brookland Park Boulevard.

The City has issued a Notice of Adverse Effect for the demolition of 209 & 211 West Brookland Park. You can download the entire notice here (PDF). If you have questions or objections you can contact Thomas.Potterfield@richmondgov.com (804.646.6364). no later than August 2nd.
The City has started working on some of the proposed Brookland Park Boulevard safety improvements. Expect lane and sidewalk closures. The project is scheduled to last until November 4th. Updates: The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest in a house fire early yesterday. Michelle Yvette Hampton, 34, of Richmond is charged with threatening to burn and arson. Additional charges against Hampton are pending upon review of the case by Richmond Police and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
