James Barton’s Corner Minor (1891)
This is Corner Minor, the house of James Barton from 1891 or slightly before, published in Richmond, Virginia Illustrated in 1891. It looks like the photo was taken from the south-east corner, while the most typical view these days is from the west.
Scanned from the Library of Virginia, sent in by Jim T.

John Murden – since you have administrator rights to NRN, can you post this? The City is not widely distributing this information:

I wonder when the wrap around porch was added… this house would be beautiful is restored to its original state
Great picture – I’ve never seen one from this angle, or from this early date. Morgan, I’d guess that the wrap-around porch and the porte-cochere were added around the turn-of-the-century, judging by the details and the style of the columns.
What do I have to do to get an announcement published on North Richmond News? I sent the Brookland Park Boulevard meeting via “Got a tip?” and posted on this thread. What method works?
Lauren,….your name has to be Mo Karn or a member of the Wingnuts.
Poor Richard, why would her name be “a member of the Wingnuts?” Why is your grammar so terrible? You always mess up the intentions of your speech through your awful grammar. Always.
It really makes your posts that much more laughable.
