Murder on Old Brook Road

Northside caught the City’s fourth homicide of 2012 on Saturday. Here’s the alert from the RPD:

The Richmond Police Department is asking for the public’s help as it investigates a recent homicide.

At approximately 10 p.m. last night, March 3rd, the Department received a call of a person shot in the 3900 block of Old Brook Road. Officers arrived and found Sylvester Jones, 53, of the 2900 block of Hanes Ave., Richmond, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died several hours later.

Detectives are continuing the investigation. They are checking into reports that two black males were seen leaving the area. Both males have been described as being short with medium builds. One was wearing a red skull cap and black jacket. The other was wearing a green jacket.
