Updated! Will anyone run against Hilbert or Robertson?
2012 is a big year for local elections in the City of Richmond. In November you’ll be voting for a City Councilperson, a Mayor, and a School Board rep. This is exciting! What makes it less exciting, however, is when candidates run unopposed. Currently there are no candidates running in either the 3rd or 6th District races other than the incumbents. But, it’s very early and there’s still plenty of time left to get your name (or to convince someone else!) on the ballot.

UPDATE: Wouldn’t you know it? Just hours after I posted this VPAP updated their numbers. All figures should be current through December 31st.
Here’s a couple interesting numbers from the (totally awesome) VPAP site:
Hilbert
- Chris Hilbert on VPAP
- Served three terms (originally elected in 2004)
- Cash on hand: $13,263
- Dollars spent per vote in the last election: $13.54
- Top donor in 2011: Mandt Bros Productions ($5,000)
Robertson
- Ellen F. Robertson on VPAP
- Served four terms (originally elected in 2003)
- Cash on hand: $8,976
- Dollars spent per vote in the last election (unopposed): $3.25
- Top donor in 2011: Robert Gregory, Robin Miller, Walter Parks, Thomas E. Rosman, Thomas Wilkinson ($1,000)

Doubt it..
@northrichmond Robertson is terrible, but who else would want the job? Maybe ask her liaison since she handles the public part anyway.

i am thinking about putting my name on the 3rd district ballot based on this post. i know i will get at least two votes. watch out Hilbert!
I am declaring my candidacy for the 3rd District. My papers should be submitted by Monday. I would love to help someone run against me or help someone run for the 6th District seat. I will put together another form packet if anyone would like one.
Spectacular Erin. I intend to contribute to your campaign.
