VUU vs. VSU in the annual Freedom Classic this weekend

This weekend is the 17th annual Freedom Classic which pits Virginia Union against Virginia State in a classic basketball rivalry game. The game, always on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, is preceded by all kinds of sweet events like Gospel Choir Showcase, Drumline Competition and the Freedom of Expression Art Expose that includes an array of vendors, cultural exhibits, live bands, local performances, flavorful food, and more.

Things kick off at the Hippodrome on Thursday (January 12th) at 5pm and culminate in the Coliseum at 3pm (tip off at 7pm). Tickets start at $22.
