Irene aftermath
- Here’s 30 pictures of the damage in Bellevue, including one house that took a direct hit from a very large and sturdy tree. These are from Reddit user BronyaCovooper.
- Flickr user, and photog-about-town, pjpink has dropped a bunch of photos into the Northside Flickr pool.
If you have any photos you’d like to share I encourage you to either send them to me info@northrichmonnews.com or put the in the Flickr pool.

Cleanup
I have been amazed at how quickly the City has hit our neighborhood with cleanup crews. We had wood chippers, dump trucks, and chainsaws working for about 12 hours yesterday.
But, maybe not all neighborhoods were as lucky. If you’ve still got downed trees, power lines, etc, make sure you call 3-1-1 and get a ticket into the City’s system. Same with an power outage: call Dominion and report the outage.

The City just started today in Battery Park….some streets are still blocked with whole trees blocking them. Give he city C minus for their response.
The city has been out since right after the storm, including early Sunday, clearing trees. Give them and the employees a very strong B+ for their response.
Yeah, they are using all available resources to deal with the mess. Richard, are you suggesting they purchase, hire and train new employees, and put in new infrastructure to house the newly bought and hired so that they may be available in the every couple of years event that they are needed? I am just going to be patient, give a hand to my neighbors, and oil up my chaim saw to give a hand. Good job boys!
Much props to the city of Richmond on their response. I was expecting that giant old maple to lay on my yard for weeks not a couple of days.
