THIS is good public art… kids spray painting their names is not. We could use more art like this in Richmond. Kudos to whoever had the idea and the artist(s) who put it together. They took an eyesore at a major entry point to the City and made it into an asset.
Applause! I drive through this area every day and I’m grateful for efforts to improve the looks of the Boulevard. I hope that these murals stay unharmed for a long time.
So wonderful – I saw them at the baseball field before they were installed and when I saw they were no longer there I was so sad – Glad to know they have a new home. Such a better way to enter Richmond via the Boulevard. Much better welcome to Richmond than a homeless man with a sign. Do we know who is responsible?
I think Ed Trask is the artist and Altria is behind the project financially.
Just drove by and saw these! They bring a welcome beauty and edginess to the area as its developing. Kudos!
The mural was completed by Ed Trask and Altria with funding from Altria. It was part of a Great American Cleanup project on boulevard, which was organized by HandsOn Greater Richmond and Richmond VDOT.

Now if we can just keep the vandals away. This is a nice alternative to graffiti.
:)
These are awesome and all involved should be commended for a job done well.
