Richmond Police have arrested two people in connection with last night’s fatal shooting on Chamberlayne Avenue.
Kevin M. Scott, 18, of the 8400 block of Tyler Lane, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder. A juvenile teen female has also been arrested and charged.
Investigators believe robbery was the motive in this incident.
RPD is reporting a murder (and shooting) on the 2700 block of Chamberlayne Ave last night at 9:25pm. Here’s the info from the RPD:
MURDER/AGGRAVATED ASSAULT (SHOOTING) (X2)
- 2/9/11 • 9:25 p.m.
- 2700 block of Chamberlayne Avenue
- A male and female were shot at the above location. The female later died of her injuries. The male’s injuries are not life-threatening.

The two drove a few feet and ended up in the parking lot of the Popeye’s restaurant in the 2700 block of Chamberlayne Avenue. That’s where police found the car with the back window shot out.
The man and woman had both been shot. They were taken to VCU Medical Center where the woman was pronounced dead.
