Police Chase ends on Brookland Park Boulevard
We had some early reports of a police chase ending in someone’s yard last night:
Looks like the day care center at the corner of Brookland Park and Montrose got the fence and back porch taken out. NBC12 had some thing about a place chase no further information. Does any one else know what happen?
The RTD has a bit more information:
Javon L. Curtis, of the 3700 block of Guilder Lane, was driving a 2000 Mercury Sable on Brookland Park Boulevard without his headlights around 10 p.m. when Virginia State Police Trooper M.T. Norman attempted to stop him.
As Norman approached the vehicle near the intersection of Meadowbridge Road, Curtis sped away. Norman pursued the vehicle and speeds neared 90 miles per hour.
The pursuit lasted about two miles before Curtis crashed into a fence and nearby residence in the 2900 block of Moss Side Avenue. Curtis suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to VCU Medical Center where he is being held for medical observation.
Curtis’ 4-month-old daughter was secured in a child safety seat and was not injured in the crash. However, two other passengers, a 17-year-old male from North Carolina and Deavon L. Jacobs of Richmond suffered minor injuries and were also transported to VCU Medical Center.

Um, so was it the local police or the state police that let the driver walk right out of MCV because they didn’t leave someone there to watch him?
Looks like they are now blaming State Police, wtvr changed the title to read State Police.
According to the articles I read, including the link above, it was State Police. RPD received an annonymous tip on the 17th that led to the arrests of both suspects.
