Richmond Community teacher named Teacher of the Year

Gregory L. McCallum, a music teacher and band director at Community has been named RPS’s Teacher of the Year.

McCallum was one of 48 city educators nominated for this year’s top teaching award. During his tenure with Richmond Public Schools, McCallum has served as the band and orchestra director at Chandler Middle, John F. Kennedy High, Fairfield Elementary, Woodville Elementary and William Fox Elementary. He’s currently in his 11th year as band and orchestra director at Richmond Community .

McCallum was awarded $1,000.
