Murder on Chamberlayne

Update

A shooting on Chamberlayne Avenue last night [October 14th] resulted in the death of a Richmond man.

Richmond Police officers responding to a call of a person down around 9:30 p.m. found Tyler Andrew Franks, 45, of the 3600 block of Chamberlayne Avenue with a gunshot wound. Franks was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he died about an hour later.

Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation and do not have any suspect information to release at this time. Anyone with information about Franks’ murder is asked to call the Richmond Police Tips Line at 514-TIPS (8477) or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.

RPD is reporting a murder on the 3600 block of Chamberlayne:

A male was found shot at the above location. He later died at the hospital. More information to follow.

I’ll have more information up after I get it from the police.
