Progress on Westbrook traffic calming measures
I took some pictures of the traffic calming measures being installed on Westbrook this afternoon. There are two “splitters” installed and crews are working on a third. Also the traffic circle in front of West Minster Canterbury looks nearly finished.

Anyone know of they plan to repave all of Westbrook when done?
@Commre I’d say they’d have to do something since they plan on widening the road quite a bit.
Color me unimpressed. I think they’ve turned a “cut-through road” problem into a “run over a median you didn’t see problem.” No matter the final product, right now is quite dangerous and I’m staying away from the road until it’s fixed. I love Westminster, but dang.
I see it didn’t take long for someone to plow right over one of the medians. This morning there were tire tracks through the whole length of the westernmost median. A whole row of newly planted bushes were ripped out, as well as the obviously ineffectual signs at each end of the median.
I’m trying to reserve judgement until the project is completed, but the city needs to mark the medians better. Now they get to pay to re-landscape one median. Paving might help also.
Will we ever see another snow plow on Westbrook Avenue? My car (a coupe) feels the squeeze.
