Westboro Baptist Church to protest at Trinity Baptist Church
The notorious Westboro Baptist Church has a day of protest planned for several Richmond locations on September 26, including a stop at Trinity Baptist Church on Fendall Avenue.
WBC to picket the Trinity Baptist Church Dog Kennel where they lie to the people for filthy lucre. “For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre?s sake.” (Ti. 1:10-11.) You have no business calling yourself Baptists and having 4000 members! John the Baptist will testify against you on the Judgment Day! You have taught the people to sin and to hate God. You will give an account to God for every soul you have lied to whose blood is on your hands. “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.” (Eze. 3:18.) The destruction of this nation is coming soon, and the lying preachers are to blame. If you give a care about your never-dying soul, come out from among them and be not partakers of their sins or their plagues. Amen!
This will be the group’s 2nd appearance in the Richmond area in 2010. A previous appearance at the Holocaust Museum, along with Westboro’s anti-gay messages, led to the formation of Pennies in Protest (who raised over $14,000 for the Hermitage High School Gay-Straight Student Alliance, the Holocaust Museum, the Jewish Community Center, and the Jerusalem Connection).
WBC will also be protesting at St. Paul’s Baptist Church on Creighton Road, VCU in the Fan, and the West End Assembly of God on Parham Road.
Oh I hope they don’t come. That’s just down the street from me. Talking about a hot mess.

This is going to be a big old mess. These people do nothing but preach hate and intolerance.
I know it’s discouraged, but couldn’t we come up with some creative unpleasantness for them? Nah.

What if WBC came to protest and nobody showed up to see them, no cameras, nada. They live for publicity.
I think no one should show up cause that what keeps this group going. But they are doing it on Sunday at time when people are going into the church. Guaranteeing an audience for their hate.
The last time this group came to town a group of my friends and some acquaintances showed up with some pretty comical posters to protest the group being here. Even tho the WBC preach hate and intolerance they are so ridiculous in their beliefs that very few folks take them seriously. It should be quite a show so if you have absolutely nothing better to do bring a lawn chair and some popcorn.
This was originally going to be an event at VCU to coincide with WBC being there, they seem to have changed their plans anyways, so we may be updating the location/theme of the protest depending on what WBC seems settled on doing closer to the actual date. Everybody’s favorite insane Baptist church is coming back to town!
Westboro Baptist Church, the wonderful people who picket funerals and believe god hates fags, fag enablers, muslims, jews, america, the military, coal miners, and sweden (among other things), are coming to protest VCU on September 26th!

Apparently god also hates education? Or maybe it’s the younger generation? I’m not really sure, but I am sure that according to th…eir leader Fred Phelps’s theology god can find something to hate you for!
Consider this an open invitation to come counter protest against WBC!
The best way to do this? Bring your boomboxes and ghetto blasters, megaphones, noise makers, and anything else you can find to turn their ridiculous hatemongering event into a party worthy of old Sodom! That’s really all it should mean when these subhuman fascists come to town: an excuse to have a day out letting your queer (or queer-enabler) flag fly!
One thing to note: As satisfying as it might be to punch one of these Westboro creeps in the face, do NOT physically engage them. They are notoriously litigious and try to provoke people into acts of violence. This is one way Phelps sacrifices the safety of his followers to line his coffers.
