Saint Elizabeth’s Church Jazz and Food Festival

Saint Elizabeth’s Church will host its Annual Jazz and Food Festival, Saturday, August 7, 2010, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Last year marked the first community festival in Highland Park of its kind and this year will be the return of a fun-filled afternoon for both the young and young at heart.

The festival will take place on the church park grounds of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church (329-4599) located at 2712 Second Avenue in Highland Park. There will be items for sale to include crafts, jewelry and books, food to include, American, Soul and West Indian cuisine; various items will be raffled and there will be games and activities for children and adults; music will be brought by a local DJ along with live music featuring the jazz sounds of Carlton Ayles, Glenroy Bailey & Co., James “Saxmo” Gates, No Restriction and The Jazz It Up Band.

Several non-profit organizations will be on site to give out helpful information on health issues, housing, senior citizens’ needs, and community issues essential to the Highland Park Community and others abroad. Can good donations will be accepted for the Central Virginia Food Bank.
