I don’t get it, how long can you not pay your taxes and get away with it?
Not sure of the exact time but there is a house on my street that owes about 15K in back taxes, based on the assessment amount for that one it been 10 to 11 years and the clock is still ticking.
Why should i pay my taxes then?
Because if you don’t, you’ll never be able to sell your property or refinance your mortgage.
What if your house underwater and you don’t to refinance
Eventually the city will auction your property for the taxes. Obviously not very quickly…but eventually.
Figures.
