You may have noticed, it is pretty darn hot outside — with no relief in site! Good thing the Richmond City pools are now open for swimming! We’ve got a couple on the Northside, details follow.

There is some confusion as whether or not the pools actually stay open until 8PM. The city site says 8PM (and has for a few years), but they’re actually closing at 7PM.
Yes, in fact, please contact this person below to have the pools switched back to 8 p.m. (which is the family swim, and not crowded out by the daycare groups!).

Yes, they’re clean and free. You don’t have to buy an LGRA membership, just come on over to Battery Park.
I go every evening to the pools (hence, my alarm when the time was being cut back)! This is my third summer at Battery Park’s pool, and the two who manage the pool, Maya (I think I have the spelling correct) and Andre, do a fantastic job.
Tried to use the pool tonight. Unfortunately they had no lanes roped off for swimming laps. I’ll probably stick with Randolph. We usually get two or three lanes during the after 5 session.
