Bryan Park lake drained?
A tip from a reader a couple days ago:
What’s going on with the upper pond area of Bryan Park? I drove by this morning to see that the pond had been drained.
Anyone got any information?

Heard from Sallie Chamberlain at Friends of Bryan Park. She says:
“The lower pond’s rock wall, which has deteriorated over the years, is being replaced. This is just one more step being taken by the city to restore Bryan Park. The project should be completed within 180 days.”
The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is planning a cleanup of the pond on October 10.
I understand this is another phase of the DPR commitment to reinvest in parks. They are spending about $600K on the Bryan park lake; they are spending $1.7 m at Forest Hill Lake. How long has it been since we saw money spent in our parks. Thanks to J. R. Pope.
I jog through Bryan Park pretty regularly and they seem to be doing some dredging work as well. The smaller pond close to the Interchange has been emptied and all the crud bulldozed out. I’m really glad to see the investment being made in Bryan Park. It’s a jewel and deserves more attention than it has gotten. If anyone has more info on the larger effort David mentioned I’d love to see it.
