City faces federal audit over Battery Park

From Style: Federal auditors are scrutinizing more than $38.4 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency funds that the city applied for and received to help repair damage in the hard-hit Battery Park neighborhood, according to state and city officials.

Trees scheduled for removal

If you see trees around the neighborhood with orange spray-paint X’s on them they are marked for removal. Eventually they’ll get these signs on them with the cause for removal. This one’s cause: it is 50% dead.
