An increase in car theft?

June 16, 2009 · Posted in

I just got a twitter direct message from a neighborhood resident saying:

Got a robocall from the police saying there’s an increase in car theft in the neighborhood.

Anyone else getting these calls or have more information?

Also, twitter is a great way to keep up with news going on in our neighborhood. Follow @northrichmond!

  2. I have heard that also,,,but I did not get a robocall. I heard it directly from the police. I think older Jeeps are the prime “stealing” vehicle.

  3. I think it is Ginter Park Terrace that they are mainly happening in.

  4. Battery Park is experiencing an increase also.

  5. They liked our older Jeep enough to drive it two miles, and steal the baby seat and stroller from it. That was back in April.

  6. channel 8 was on the 4800 block of e seminary interviewing folks tonight who’ve had their cars stolen!

  7. The concern is in sector 412, which includes the neighborhoods Carver, Newtowne West, Scott’s Addition, Northern Barton Heights, Brookland Park, Edgewood, Ginter Park, Washington Park, John Marshall, Sherwood Park, Bellevue, Laburnum Park, Rosedale, Chamberlayne Industrial Center and Virginia Union. You can contact your sector lieutenant, Sector 412 Lt. Brian Corrigan, for more information by calling 646-4105.
