APRIL FOOL’S POST: Stir Crazy chooses new name
After culling through more than 300 suggestions from patrons for a new name, Stir Crazy Cafe — a popular coffee shop on Northside’s MacArthur Avenue — has chosen its new moniker.
The newly named Old Dank Grounds Cafe will be closed on April 1 so that the interior can be repainted various shades of brown and black to reflect its new, darker image.
The name change is the result of a national chain named Stir Crazy moving into the Richmond area; that company served the MacArthur coffee shop with a cease-and-desist order earlier this year.
The shop’s owners say that in keeping with its new image, laughter and carefree chatter will be prohibited.
Happy April Fool’s, Northside.

They’re also banning baby strollers and capri pants.
