Watch the inauguration on the big screen in Northside
There will be plenty of places around Richmond to watch next Tuesday’s inquguration, but North Richmond’s own Northminster Baptist Church is inviting the entire Northside community to watch history on the “biggest TV screens in the neighborhood”:
Regardless of one’s vote in November, most people recognize history will be made on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 when Barack Obama is sworn in as President. You can join others to witness this moment in history on the biggest TV screens in the neighborhood.At 11:00 a.m., the Church doors will open for you — and whomever you bring with you — to experience this inauguration event with others from across the Northside community. The swearing-in is scheduled for 12:00 noon, followed by Obama’s speech.
BYOL — Bring Your Own Lunch. Children are welcome, but no childcare will be provided. Event concludes by 3:00 p.m. Northminster is conveniently located in Richmond’s historic Ginter Park neighborhood at the corner of Moss Side and Westwood Avenues.
thanks for the publicity on northrichmondnews.com. Fifty-four of us attended Northminster’s broadcast of the inauguration of America’s 44th president. There was plenty of applause, cheers and tears. I walked out with three elderly women that I had never met, yet interacted as though we all had know each other a lifetime. Today was a memorial day… marking the next step in America’s story as well as making some new friends.
