  1. Barton Heights says:

This was in Southern Barton Heights. Please associate with correct neighborhood.

  2. Thank you for posting this up here. I’ve spoken with a few people and it seems that there is a lot of prostitution activity on or around that corner. Nobody seems to know if it was a truly random occurence or a trick turned bad.

  3. There is alot prostitution on North Ave starting at the bus stop at W Norwood Ave all the way down.

  4. It trickles down the 2200-2600 blocks of Lamb as well-lots of foot and drug car traffic.

  5. Calling the RPD non-emergency number or the 4th precinct to report this activity, possibly even license plate numbers could be helpful in extinguishing this type of behavior in our neighborhood.

    4th Precinct 646-4105
    RPD non- emergency 646-5100

  6. A “trick gone bad” is still an abduction and rape at gunpoint. Sex workers CAN be raped. Sexual violence effects us all (all women, all men). Please do not dismiss this disturbing and violent crime on the basis that a woman was “asking for it”.

  7. I did not mean to sound as if I was dismissing the sexual violence that occured that evening, I apologize if it came off that way. Believe me, I am just as concerned as anyone else in the area over the events that happened that evening, as I am a young woman that lives on that block. But, if it was a “sex worker” then that entire sitaution could have almost been avoided.

I frequently call the RPD non-emergency number over streetwalkers, drug dealers, and gunshots that are heard along my block. In fact, I think they are tired of hearing from me at this point as their response time has significantly increased and the attitude of the dispatcher when I called the other evening was rude and demeaning. So what am I supposed to do now?
