Chamberlayne bus is GRTC’s most productive
In a recent Richmond.com look at “Richmond by the Numbers,” it was reported that North Richmond’s Chamberlayne Avenue bus is among the most productive in the GRTC system:
37: Route number of Chamberlayne Avenue, which has the highest farebox recovery of its costs to operate at 48 percent. It’s also the most productive route.
At the last 2nd District meeting Bill P commented on how routes were laid out during the last century around old street car tracks and political patronage. Personal bus stops were created for people who moved away or died 50 years ago.
