Memorial Day parade planned for Lakeside
Discover Lakeside announced plans for a Memorial Day parade on Lakeside Avenue:
A Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, May 26. The event will kick off at the Hatcher Memorial Church at 2 pm, turn left on Dumbarton, and proceed the wrong way on the southbound lane of Lakeside Avenue. The parade will continue to Hilliard Road where it will turn left again and proceed to Cottage Street. It will end at Lakeside Elementary School.
“We are really excited about this parade and the great support we are getting from the county,” remarked coordinator Dick McClure, a local Lakesider with much experience in the parade production arena.
Keep your eye out for more details.
Parade folks, there will be refreshments at the end of the parade at Lakeside Elementary. Please support the school and buy a snack and beverage.

Hi, I am a queen of a Red Hat Chapter, “Outrageous Women Who Just Want to Have Fun”. We have participated in the Mechanicsville Christmas Rotary Ruritan Parade, 2007 & 2008, and we were in the Chester Kiwanis Christmas Parade, 2008.
We were looking to be in a parade in the spring, summer, or fall. This one sounds great and I would like more information on it, and also, information on any other parade that you know of in spring or fall.
