Richmond Braves Receive Bomb Threat
A bomb threat right around 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon forced the evacuation of The Diamond during a Braves game.
About 5,000 fans had to leave their seats and head for the parking lots.
Police say Aramark, the Diamond’s food vendor, received the phoned in threat at their headquarters and then alerted Braves officials and police.
A “code red” was declared and everyone was asked to leave. The bomb squad searched the facility and found nothing. The players were eventually allowed back inside to gather their belongings.
The game has been postponed until Monday at 1 pm.
