Ginter Park Library improvements planned
The latest edition of the Richmond Public Library’s Connections newsletter spotlights efforts to improve the Ginter Park branch on Westbrook Avenue:
Richmond Public Library wants to improve its Ginter Park Branch! Located on Westbrook Avenue, the busy little branch hosts computer classes for adults, homework assistance for students, story time for families and checks out over 50,000 books, magazines, CD’s and DVD’s each year. It needs help to keep going!
Spurred by volunteers in the neighborhood, the City of Richmond is working with the Richmond Public Library Foundation to come up with much needed funds for improvements. “I greatly support the efforts of the Library Foundation to raise funds for improvements that will make the building more functional,” said Chris Hilbert, City Council representative to the Third District.
“Early news of the branch improvements has already garnered tremendous support,” remarked Kelly Kyle, Ginter Park resident. “We have already raised over $11,000 from generous individuals,” she continued, “and now we want the rest of the neighborhood to get excited about their branch.”
