More on the old Richmond Memorial Hospital
Courtesy of Urban Richmond, a weblog with a greater attention to detail than I can muster this week, comes a more specific round-up of the development plans for the former Richmond Memorial Hospital property:
The seven-story hospital building to be converted to:
Additionally, the developer may build free-standing townhomes on the property after the condos are finished. The historic Laburnum House is to become a community center for property owners.
Another part of the hospital property is being converted to dorms for the Baptist Theological Seminary (the old nursing school). Still another building currently houses a fitness center and a school for children with autism.





Please advise the year this hospital was built and I would like to inquire on my deceased Mother’s medical records….Thank You!!
I’m not sure when the hospital was built – sometime in the 50′s I think. If you are looking for medical records, contact Bon Secours as they purchased the hospital prior to moving it to the Mechanicsville area.
