Don’t forget — We have comments!
The comments feature at North Richmond News might be the most underlooked area of our site, but it is proving to be where the most interesting tidbits of information and news about our community can be found.
Recent comments include some feedback for the folks at Lewis Ginter; a rave for North Side Grille; some balanced perspective on Kitchen 64 (and an update on their adjacent ice cream stand!); and a little back history on Union-PSCE.
Be sure to check out the comments — they’re listed over there to the right! Or add some of your own. We moderate with moderation — as long as your language is clean and the slander is lean, we’ll do just fine.

Northside Grille was well worth the wait!
Like everyone else, we’ve watched in the windows of Northside Grille for months and monitored the progress. We were delighted to hear they were open (on this blog) and gave them a try this evening. PERFECT!! FANTASTIC! The atmosphere is spacious and welcoming, the staff was as excited as we were, the food was very, very good and the prices amazingly affordable. We’ve tried Kitchen 64 (we want BADLY to have a regular place here near Ginter Park) and it’s been OK but noisy, longish waits and all food served together (see previous reviews). No such issues at Northside! The service (and food delivery) was smooth and timely- but not rushed. The seafood risotto was very tasty with salmon, shrimp and crab. The crab cakes were great and the dijon sauce a wonderful touch. A bottle of Vino Verde and it wa sthe perfect meal for a warmish June evening. And we noticed folks just stopping in for a beer or glass of wine at the large bar and making new friends all around.
So we hope everyone will give the folks at Northside Grille their business (though we’d love to keep it a secret)- it’s a welcome addition to the Northside!!
